Basketball

Michael played basketball at the YMCA. He was on the Celtics. (David and I had Celtics t-shirts. We spent several Saturdays being asked if we were from Boston and if we are Celtics fans...)

David spent time practicing with Michael and showing him dribbling drills and such. It was great to see Michael learn and improve over the season.

Tiger Scouts

Michael has been busy with Tiger Scouts so far this year (which means David and I are too). Scouts has been a good fit in our lives. Some activities we would have done anyway (like going to see a play), and other activities introduce new experiences. Here are a few highlights:

Michael organized a toothpaste drive and collected tubes of toothpaste and other non-perishables to donate to the St. Vincent de Paul Society at our church.
Michael made a birdhouse, and we hung it in our yard.
Michael earned a "Pet Care" belt loop. He helped take care of Diego, read books about dogs, and made a poster showing what he did to care for Diego.
Tigers planted seedlings!
Tiger Den Leaders helping out (and not pictured were the Dads helping too!).

David, Michael, and I went to see a theater production of one of the Magic Tree House books.

The actors signed the program afterwards.

Michael sold coupon books as a fundraiser. He set a goal and made it!
