No T-Ball...Soccer Instead...and Tennis

We registered Michael for T-Ball awhile back. Today, we went to the Parent/Coach meeting. Unfortunately, we were informed that not enough kids had signed up for summer T-Ball. We had a few options. We could join another summer sport (basketball or soccer), or we could get our money back. A third option might be that we go to another location for T-Ball.

We stepped aside and had a little family meeting about the options. Michael was very enthusiastic about playing soccer. For awhile--since the Olympics--he has been telling us that he wants to be a soccer star. He will be in the Olympics in soccer. This hasn't really been encouraged (or discouraged), but having cousins who play soccer really impacted Michael's opinion of the sport.

So, soccer it is!

We're planning on looking out for fall T-Ball, or at the very least Little League in the spring.

In addition to soccer, Michael will be taking tennis lessons for several weeks this summer. I hope he enjoys those too! The parks department of Houston is offering the lessons free for children at locations throughout the city. We found a nearby park and signed up! Tennis will run through the end of June.

I would also like to get him into swim lessons this summer. Maybe in July!
