So...it's been awhile since I last posted! My parents came to visit for Easter, and we got to show them our little corner of Houston. And then, Michael and I drove back up to Omaha with them! We stayed for almost two weeks. Oh, and in case you didn't know, David went to the Masters in April for his paper. He had an excellent time! He's finally got out of the habit of saying, "When I was at the Masters..."
We've discovered Cullinan Park in Sugar Land awhile back, and we go visit every once in awhile. It's also an conservatory, so we usually see turtles and birds. We had our first alligator siting for the season on Mother's Day. It was a tiny little baby skimming through the water. Creepy! But cool!

Michael and I went to a speaker at the Houston Zoo. Rachel Graham spoke about her work to study and help conserve sharks and sting rays in and around Belize. I was a little unsure how Michael would behave for a speaker. But, I know he likes nature shows. I hoped that this would almost be like a "live" nature show for him. He did really well, and he seemed very interested! Fortunately, Dr. Graham had lots of pictures and some videos. After her talk, she took some time to answer questions. Before I knew it, Michael's hand shot up. Dr. Graham didn't see him, but afterwards one of the zoo workers pointed Michael out. She came over to us and asked Michael if he had a question. Michael asked her, "Are sting rays dangerous?" She said in general they are not, but there can be circumstances where they might be (like if you step on them.) She talked with us for a couple of minutes, and she asked what his favorite shark is. Michael said, "Hammerhead."
