Michael and I left David in Texas, so we could visit my family in Omaha.
There was just enough snow on the ground when we arrived Wednesday morning that Michael could play a little in it. He made a "snow dinosaur" with Uncle Bob.
I think all this snow had melted by the time we finished lunch. But, what fun for a Texas boy to get to play in some snow.
I went to a friend's wedding on Friday evening. I've known this girl for a long time--she used to be my camper when I was a camp counselor! And eventually, she became a counselor too. That was years ago. So glad we've kept in touch and made more memories over the years! And, very glad to be at her wedding!
Happy Easter! We went to the Easter Vigil mass at my parents' church on Saturday evening. And, earlier in the day, we dyed Easter eggs.
This was the third time this year that Michael colored eggs. (The other times were at the library and at Mommaw's before we left.) He loved it!

Nederland Heritage Festival
The Nederland Heritage Festival was last week. There's a TON of festivals around here. This was particularly fun because Michael got a ride pass. He had so much fun! (And David and I did too.)
You can read more about our time at the Nederaland Heritage Festival on Girl Engulfed, my other blog.
And enjoy a few pics of the rides:

Sesame Street Live
Michael, Meme (David's Mom), David and I went to Sesame Street Live: Elmo Makes Music on Saturday. David's aunt got us tickets through work. So nice! Michael was pretty excited to go to Sesame Street. His favorite characters are Cookie Monster and Big Bird...although he got pretty excited about this Oscar in entryway before the show:
Michael had a lot of fun and watched pretty intently. He was bopping to the music, and he got super excited a few times (like when Grover came onto the stage for the first time). I brought my camera, so Michael could take some photos.
Later on, I let him use it over at Mawmaw's at dinner. He started taking pictures of the people and then..."I need to take a picture of the TV. I need to take a picture of the floor."
Here we are at Sesame Street Live:

January/February Celebrations
At the end of January, David, Michael, and I went to the NASA Space Center in Houston. It was kind of a family trip for my birthday. I can't believe that David hadn't been there before! He looked like a kid at Disneyland. Michael enjoyed it too! Here he is about to touch a moon rock:
We also got to visit with family in the Woodlands after the Space Center visit.
Michael wants his next trip to a museum to be the Houston Museum of Natural Science to see their new paleontology exhibit. Michael is still into dinosaurs. It's been fueled even more because now he has a huge personal library of dino books that 'Grandi' (David's mom's sister) grabbed before they were thrown out at a library. Some of the books are a tad outdated, but they're in good condition. Best of all, Michael loves having dino books to read.
Michael has been invited to several of his Mother's Day Out friends' #4 birthday parties.
The first was a tea party for Karma. They had a horse to give horse rides (a family horse). Michael is okay looking at horses, but he's still unsure about getting to close! The birthday girl had a late afternoon outdoor tea party--really cute! The birthday girl is in the floppy hat.
The second birthday party was for Abigail. When Michael first started talking about her, he called her Abby-girl, but now he corrects us if we ask about Abby-girl. Her party was a Chuck E. Cheese, which Michael thought was great.
Naturally, we watched the Super Bowl with the family. I was quite proud of the Peanut Butter dip in a rice crispy treat bowl that I made.
Valentine's Day was very nice. Michael went to his MDO, and they had a Valentine's party. Here he is in the hat he made:
Tina and Mary watched Michael, so David and I were able to go to dinner and a movie. We saw The Hobbit and went to Pei Wei.
Mardi Gras is kind of a big deal around here. We went on the first day of the Southeast Texas Mardi Gras Celebration, so we got to see a parade, sample some food, and listen to some live music. They also had some carnival-style rides. Michael loved doing a big obstacle course they had:
And we got plenty of beads and throws. Michael was playing "Mardi Gras" for several days after we went. We pretended one of us was in the parade, and the other one was watching. We would throw beads at the parade viewers. Diego was a popular float in our Mardi Gras parades.
